sustainable energy spatial planning.<\/li><li><p>The final report for the &quot;Velden East Neighborhood Development&quot; project is available. The energy concept is considered a highly innovative pilot project for future urban and neighborhood development. It demonstrates how early considerations of energy spatial planning can enrich urban development and enable meaningful sector integration.<\/p><\/li><li><p>The project area comprises 20 buildings, 14 residential buildings with assisted living and youth housing, and six non-residential buildings, including an international school and a hotel with a spa. Together, they generate a heating demand of approximately 2,195 MWh and a cooling demand of approximately 1,028 MWh (megawatt hours).<\/p><\/li><li><p>The heat supply will be provided via a fifth-generation (anergy) heating network. The system technology will be designed to achieve maximum supply reliability and maximum efficiency. Five scenarios were examined, comparing technical, economic, and ecological aspects. The focus was on CO\u2082 reduction, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.<\/p><\/li><li><p>The next steps are a binding development plan and concrete concepts for developers in the district.<\/p><\/li><li><p>In cooperation with KELAG, the market town of Velden and with the support of Lend Architektur, an innovative energy concept was developed, which now serves as the basis for further implementation in the individual construction sites.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Velden East Neighborhood Development: A flagship project for sustainable energy planning.
