TÜWI Vienna - Woschitz Group

Türkenwirtgebäude BOKU Vienna

Since the existing TÜWI building could not be economically renovated, it was completely torn down and rebuilt. The new building consists of a rectangular complex with three upper floors along the Peter-Jordan-Straße/Dänenstraße and complex with two floors towards the north.

A partially lowered courtyard provides daylight for the basement, where additional learning rooms and lounges were arranged. In the new complex are located three university institutes, teaching and learning areas as well as an auditorium for around 400 people. To guarantee the catering of students and staff, a canteen and a restaurant with an open-air area were implemented.

The main facade was constructed as a wooden frame construction based on prefabricated elements, which were built in a storey-high, staggered arrangement. The building is equipped with automatic external sun shields.

This project was implemented by Woschitz Engineering, which is member of the WOSCHITZ GROUP.
