Sailing School on the Neusiedler See
Close to the festival area in Mörbisch am See, G. Lang GmbH spent money for a new sailing school. To provide a contemporary operation in the sailing school, it was vital to build a new two-storey building. It consists of two separate buildings which are created in lightweight wooden construction and which are situated in the water zone of Lake Neusiedl. A training room, office space, a restaurant, storage facilities and a new sanitary area were erected. While doing the construction work, a new access pier to the sailing boats was built, and the boat moorings were also renewed.
The sailing school is located in the water zone of Lake Neusiedl, and its foundation is based on timber piles. Due to the unique requirements for the transport of the supporting structure of the two-storey timber building, the prefabricated wall and ceiling elements were brought in by a helicopter and installed at the site. The erection of the whole project was done within only nine months.
The new sailing school consists of two buildings erected in lightweight wooden construction. The two-storey main building contains the sailing school itself on the ground floor and a cantina on the upper level. The single-storey annexe houses lots of storage facilities for surf sails, surfboards and wetsuits. The sanitary area is located in front of the building on the mainland.
The client of the project is Lang GmbH. The architecture was realised by architects Halbritter and Halbritter ZT GmbH. Woschitz Engineering GmbH provided a part of the structural engineering and construction supervision. The other part of structural engineering and the building physics were provided by RWT plus GmbH. The project management and the representation of the client were provided by the Pannonia Consult GmbH. Woschitz Engineering, RWT plus and Pannonia Consult are members of the Woschitz Group.
