Kindergarden in wooden construction
The new eco-kindergarden in Mattersburg was built as a two-story new building in solid wood construction, as the old kindergarten in Hauptstraße was already aging.
The upper floor houses four kindergarten groups and on the first floor two rooms for the nursery, two exercise rooms, a therapy room and various ancillary rooms were newly created. The storage rooms and vehicle parking spaces located to the southeast form the separation between the garden and Johann-Strauß Gasse.
The ecology and sustainability of this two-storey solid wood building is enhanced by heating with a heat pump using geothermal energy. The positive building climate of the object is owed to the architecture, the building material wood, and the technical building equipment in combination with the building physics.
The client of the project is the Erste Burgenländische Gemeinnützige Siedlungsgenossenschaft. The architectural office Team Plankraft ZT GmbH was responsible for the architecture. Woschitz Engineering ZT GmbH and RWT plus ZT GmbH were responsible for the structural design of the solid construction and timber construction. RWT plus ZT GmbH was also responsible for the building physics. Both companies are members of the Woschitz Group.
