Extension and Conversion House Lackenbach
The former police station in the Wienerstaße in Lackenbach was completely renovated after being vacant for a longer period. The building now includes five flats and a day centre. The new roof truss and the conversion allowed the creation of generous space on the upper floor. This area is now used for the flats. The new design integrated dormers into the roof and thus provides light-flooded apartments.
The building was hardly changed on the ground floor. The room layout was adapted by erecting single interior walls to be useful for its new purpose. The building was extended by a new staircase. There was also built an elevator and a canopy. This extension provides excellent access to the day centre and the apartments. The day centre is also equipped with barrier-free access via the courtyard. The apartments are not only barrier-free accessible; they are also designed barrier-free.
The courtyard is located in front of the day centre. It is a quiet zone and an outdoor area. The passage from the court to the day centre is made by a terrace, which connected to a small garden area. The open design of space was repeated by adding balconies to each apartment.
The market town Lackenbach was the client. The architecture was provided by the Architekt Riedl ZT GmbH. Woschitz Engineering ZT GmbH was in charge of the structural design and energy design. The building physics was implemented by the RWT plus ZT GmbH. Both companies are part of the Woschitz Group.
