Apartment complex Living with Everything
The winning project of a housing-development competition for the former Nordbahnhof premises was primarily realised with in-situ concrete and it is divided into two separate residential buildings of different architecture. It was possible to dispense with internal beams due to the flat roof system. The number of bracing walls was minimised to offer sufficient design freedom. One particular challenge was the very irregular window arrangement with regard to the height and the balconies located on the corners. Ecology was taken into account through the very low level of energy required (lowest energy standard). As a special feature, a multi-storey rear-ventilated timber facade can also be used in social housing.
