Retirement Home Penzing Was Awarded the Ethouse Award
RWT plus ZT GmbH, a member of the Woschitz Group, won an Ethouse Award for the retirement home Penzing. The winning projects were classified in the following three categories: “Private Housing”, “General Housing” and “Public Buildings”. RWT plus ZT GmbH cooperated with the architects of Karl und Bremhorst Architekten GmbH and the contractor DI Wilhelm Sedlak GmbH to realise the project “Retirement Home Penzing” which won the Ethouse Award in the category “Public Buildings”. The building physics departments of RWT plus ZT GmbH was in charge of planning the thermal refurbishment of the retirement home in the passive-house standard.
It’s the tenth time that the ARGE Qualitätsgruppe Wärmedämmsysteme, QG WDS for short, awarded the Ethouse Award to four refurbishment projects. In this context, the refurbishment projects, which implement the topic of energy efficiency in general as well as provide architectural impulses, were awarded. A jury of eight chaired by Johannes Kislinger of ah3 Architekten ZT GmbH chose the winners. The award ceremony took place virtually to achieve the security measures for disease prevention regarding COVID-19. The food planned for the buffet was donated to charitable institutions.
The reason given by the jury was as follows:” The retirement home convinced by its entire architecture. The reduced heating demand after the refurbishment is exemplary for the use of the building.” The whole team is delighted by the recognition.
